Your questions answered!

1. Why do airfares keep changing so frequently?

Every airline sets aside a few (read very few) seats for grabbing eyeballs during the advertising campaigns. Like all businesses airlines have to make profits.  Once the low fare seats are booked the airline will start the next level fares which will be added to their profits. All these fares may be in economy class, however each passenger may end up paying a different fare depending on the route and travel date. Holiday destination fares are higher on weekends and business destinations are costlier on weekdays. If you plan your trip well in advance and book on a working day, you may enjoy better fare. Low-cost airline websites enjoy bookings surge during weekends. Try booking on a week day ahead of the weekend, you will see the difference.

2. Why should I pay for my food on low-cost airlines?

Normally low-cost airlines operate as an economical mode of transportation for budget travelers. As their main aim is to take you to the destination and the fare which they offer is very attractive, they normally do not offer food or other in-flight services which you may find in other airlines. Many low-cost airlines offer in-flight services for a charge on board which you have to pay extra. This way you pay for services only when you use them.

3. Can I carry Indian currency when I travel to Nepal?

Yes, you can. However, currency notes in Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 are not accepted in Nepal. Carrying smaller denominations is advisable.

4. Do I need travel Insurance?

I recommend everyone traveling International to buy Travel Insurance along with the trip. This will come handy when you fall sick, lose your baggage and other emergencies which may arise during your travel. Travel Insurance policies come with various covers viz., Basic, Medium and Comprehensive. Please discuss with your travel agent and decide what is best suitable for you. Choose your Insurance Policy carefully and carry the Insurance papers and international toll-free number provided by the Insurance company along with your travel documents.

get away, your way!
