Ramayana Trails in Sri Lanka - 6 days

Day 1 Colombo to Kandy:
On arrival at Colombo airport, you will be welcomed by Concept Voyages’ representative who will transfer you to hotel in Kandy. Afternoon you will be taken for a city tour of Kandy and to enjoy a cultural show in the evening. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name "Kandy" conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 2 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya:
After breakfast visit Temple of the Tooth relic. Thereafter proceed to Pussallewa to visit Anjaneya Temple. Transfer to Nuwara Eliya, and proceed for a city tour Nuwara Eliya. Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lankas most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lankas tea country producing a significant share of the world s best tea. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3 Nuwara Eliya – Hakgala – Bandarawela:
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Seeta Amman Temple and Hakgala botanical gardens where King Ravana kept Seeta Amman insisting to marry him. Later proceed to Isthiripura cave where Seeta Amman was kept as a prisoner. Proceed to Divurumpola Temple where Seeta Amman performed Agni Pariksha proving her chastity. In the afternoon transfer to Bandarawela. Visit Ravana Ella water falls and Ravana Caves the 1st place Ravana hid Seeta Amman. Overnight stay in Bandarawela.

Day 4 Bandarawela – Colombo:
Breakfast at Hotel. Proceed to Colombo via visiting a gem mine in Ratnapura which is called as fabulous City of gems. Visit Seetawakka situated near Avissawella. Enjoy a city and shopping tour of Colombo. Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries, is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar – where one can shop for bargain, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People’s Republic of China. You may also enjoy some fabulous Shopping in Odel, House of Fasion, Avarati etc. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 5 Colombo - Negombo:
Breakfast at hotel. Visit Kelaniya Temple special shrine dedicated to Vibheeshana, King Ravana’s brother, who allied with Lord Rama in the struggle to rescue Seeta Amman. Thereafter transfer to Muneeshwaram and Manavari Temple. Manavari is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed the Siva lingam, after the end of the war with King Ravana. Overnight stay in Negombo or Waikkal.

Day 6 Negombo/Waikkal – Colombo for departure:
After breakfast you will be transferred to Colombo airport in time to connect to the departure flight.

End of tour.
