Day 1
Kathmandu: Arrive at Kathmandu International airport. Meet and greet at
airport by Concept Voyages' representative and transfer to hotel by coach. Free
day at leisure. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing: After breakfast, proceed for full day
sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. First visit Pashupatinath temple. One of the
holiest Hindu shrines in the world, the fabulous pagoda temple houses the linga
(phallic symbol) of Lord Shiva. A short drive to east is Boudhanath, a massive
stupa, is one of largest of its kind. The place is alive with hymn- chanting,
spinning prayer wheels and scores of people circumambulating here provide
excellent exposure to Tibetan culture. On return we will stop for lunch in
Durbar Marg. We next drive to Narayanthan temple, a temple of famous resting
Vishnu, followed by a visit of Syambhunath Stupa to the west of city. The stupa,
which watches over the valley from the top of a hillock, is one of the holiest
Buddhist sites in Nepal. Its establishment is linked to the creation of
Kathmandu valley. You get to enjoy a very good view of Kathmandu valley from
here. Evening in leisure. Enjoy the restaurant in
Thamel or shopping in New Road. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3 Kathmandu-Nagarkot: After breakfast, drive to Nagarkot. Sightseeing
of Bhaktapur en route. Bhaktapur lies 14 km to the east of Kathmandu and one the
way to Nagarkot. Of the three cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, the last
has the best preserved art and architecture bequeathed to the Kathmandu valley
by the ancient Malla rulers. Besides the fine palace complex, temples and other
artifacts. you will also get to experience a simple, almost semi-rural lifestyle
that has changes little over time. After lunch drive on to Nagarkot on a gently
up hill and meandering road. Check in at hotel, assisted by concept voyages
representative. Located 30 km to the east of Kathmandu on the valley rim,
Nagarkot is the perfect get away for those who seek Himalayan scenery and rural
serenity. Nagarkot is situated at an elevation of 2175 m and provides a
grandstand panorama of the Himalaya. You can see five of the world’s 10
tallest mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-oyu and Manaslu
with grand Ganesh Himal right in front of you. The snow peaks look especially
gorgeous during sunset and sunrise. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 Nagarkot-Kathmandu departure: Wake up early morning for a steaming
tea/coffee and a savory breakfast. Depart to Kathmandu airport to board flight
home.
