Day 1 Bagdogra-Gangtok
(121kms/4hrs): Meet and greet on arrival by Concept Voyages'
representative at Bagdogra /NJP railway station and transfer to Gangtok,
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 Gangtok-Tsomgo Lake: After breakfast take an excursion trip
to Tsomgo Lake - about 40kms and situated at an
altitude of 12,000 ft., which remains frozen almost half of the year and
an ideal habitat of red panda and other species. Also visit the
Baba Mandir. Evening free at leisure and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3 Gangtok-Lachung (About 117 kms /6 hrs): After breakfast,
proceed to Lachung - an idyllic valley surrounded
by mist-shrouded mountains and great waterfalls. Enroute visit
Tashi viewpoint, Phodong Monastery, Mangan, Singik Chungthang and Maltim.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 Lachung-Yumthang Excursion: After breakfast proceed for
sightseeing of Yumthang Valley - located 145 km
from Gangtok. North Sikkim plays a vital role in Sikkim tourism. It is
called as the flower valley, replete with 500 waterfalls, hot springs,
glaciers, and the majestic snow covered Himalayas. Yumthang is the summer
grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back
visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties.
Back to resort in afternoon. Spent afternoon interacting with the local
people taking the idea of their simple lifestyle. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5 Lachung- Gangtok (About 117kms/6hrs): After breakfast
departure (8.00 am), assisted by Concept Voyages' representative, for
Gangtok enroute witness the beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin
Falls. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 6 Gangtok-Darjeeling: After breakfast, proceed for Gangtok city
tour covering- the Rumtek Monastery, on the
outskirts of the town is one of Buddhism's most sacred monasteries. The
monastery is the seat of the Kagyu order, one of the major Tibetan sects,
and houses some of the world's most sacred and rare Tibetan Buddhist
scriptures and religious objects in its reliquary. It is an excellent
replica of the original Kagyu headquarters in Tibet. It houses some of the
world's most unique art objects, ancient manuscripts and icons.
Botanical Garden, Do Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show and
Cottage Industry. Later transfer to Darjeeling is one of the most
magnificent hill resorts in the world. Evening free to explore this Hill
queen. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 7 Darjeeling: Early morning at 4am leave for the breath-taking
sunrise view to Tiger Hill - the highest
point in the area which provides the most exotic view of the Kanchenjunga
peaks. On a clear day the sight of Mt.Everest is just enthralling. and on
return, visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, This railway loop is an
interesting example of engineering. At this loop the toy train takes a
very unique turn. After breakfast 8.30am proceed for the
Darjeeling sight seeing, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ
Himalayan Zoo, Tenzing Rock, Tea Garden (outer view), Tibetan Refugee
Center, Ava Art Gallery and the Japanese Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8 Darjeeling-Bagdogra (98 kms/3 hrs): After breakfast, checkout
and transfer to Bagdogra airport for departure.
