(srinagar-gulmarg-pahalgam)
Day 1 Srinagar: Meet
and greet on arrival at Srinagar by Concept Voyages' representative and
transfer to Houseboat. Afternoon free at leisure for personal activities. In the evening Shikara ride on Dal Lake to enjoy the sunset. Overnight
stay at Houseboat.
Day 2 Srinagar (50kms): Take a half day tour of world
famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure)
and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). Return to houseboat for lunch. In
the afternoon Shikara ride on The Dal Lake
( world famous water body has been described as Lake Par-Excellence by Sir Walter Lawrence) to enjoy the beauty that God
has graced this city with which is often compared to Venice. You will get
a view of some very interesting places around the Lake. Overnight stay at
Houseboat.
Day 3 Srinagar-Gulmarg (56kms): After breakfast leave for Gulmarg
which is one of the most beautiful summer resort in the valley. It is also
popular for its golf course (in summer), the highest in the world and
skiing during the winter season. Enjoy the splendor of nature and the
snowy mountains. One can have Gondola ride (cable car) from Gulmarg to
Khalinmarg . Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 Gulmarg–Pahalgam (149kms): After breakfast leave from
Gulmarg and drive to Pahalgam 2440 Mtrs (
a quaint little village nestled on the banks of river Lidder, an angler's delight) on the way
visit Saffron fields and Avantipur ruins which is eleven hundred years old
temple. Finally by the lunch time you will reach Pahalgam which is the
most famous place for Indian Film Industry. After lunch enjoy the nature
charm of the valley. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5 Pahalgam: Day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the Pahalgam valley -
the village of nomad is unspoilt by the ravages of progress. Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. The Amarnath cave is 6 kms away from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural shivling in the Amarnath cave, which waxes and wanes with the moon. For detailed information on the Amaranath Yatra, refer to
amarnath yatra. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 6 Pahalgam-Srinagar (93kms): After breakfast, leave Pahalgam
and drive to Srinagar. Arrive during lunch time and check-in into the hotel.
Afternoon free at leisure for shopping. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 7 Srinagar-Sonmarg-Srinagar (196kms): Full day excursion to
Sonmarg
(
has brilliant forests of sycamore and alpine flowers, silver birch, fir and pine - a place of enthralling beauty) which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. On the way you
stop at many beautiful spots. Continue drive to Sonmarg 2690 Mtrs (Meadow
of Gold). One can ride on horse to visit Thajiwas Glacier where snow
remains round the year and Sonmarg is known as "Gateway of Ladakh". In the
evening return to Houseboat. Overnight stay at Houseboat.
Day 8 Srinagar: Transfer in time to the airport to connect onwards
destination flight.
