Day 1 Cairo: Arrive at Cairo international Airport. Meet and greet by Concept Voyages' representative and transfer to hotel. Free evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 2 Cairo-Aswan: After breakfast proceed for a scenic drive to the Giza Plateau to visit the Three Pyramids built by the Pharonic Kings, Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos. They have stood for over 5000 years and of the Seven Wonders of the World. Visit their guardian the Sphinx with the body of a lion and head of a human. Visit the Papyrus Institute to see how the ancient craft of papyrus used to be made. Afternoon continue to visit the masterpieces of ancient artifacts in the Egyptian Museum. This museum houses one of the largest collections of ancient Egyptian artefacts including the famous treasures of King Tut Ankhamoun. Evening transfer to train station to board overnight sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on train.
Day 3 Aswan-Nubia-Nile Cruise: You will enjoy a sumptuous breakfast onboard the train while you arrive into Aswan. On arrival Concept Voyages’ representatives will meet and assist you and transfer you to Nile Cruise terminal to board the Nile Cruise ship. From here you will enjoy a 3 night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. After embarking enjoy a delicious lunch onboard the cruise ship. Evening visit the High Dam, the pride of Aswan and a structure of the utmost ingenuity while sailing. This is where Aswan ends and Nubia begins. An ideal panoramic view of Aswan can be seen from here. Continue by motorboat to visit Philae Temple, one of the best-preserved Temples and rebuilt stone by stone on an island. Enjoy your dinner on board and overnights stay on Nile Cruise ship.
Day 4 Kom Ombo-Edfu-Esna-Luxor: After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a relaxing felucca ride around the Islands of Aswan. Afternoon enjoy a sumptuous lunch onboard your cruise ship. Continue sailing to Kom Ombo. Evening arrive into Kom Ombo and visit Kom Ombo Temple dedicated to the falcon headed God Horus. This temple is unique as it is actually a fusion of two temples with two separate gateways and one of the first chapels. Later sail to Edfu. After dinner overnight on board
Day 5 Luxor: Early morning, while you enjoy your buffet breakfast, we sail into Edfu. Experience the "sailing vendors" as they pull up in their small boats to sell you their goods from your Cruise ship. On arrival, visit Edfu Temple one of the best-preserved and completed monuments. You will have a chance to do this shore excursion by horse carriage. Later proceed to sail to Esna where you will pass the "Esna Lock" which adjusts the Nile water level for your ship to pass onto Luxor. After dinner overnight on board
Day 6 Luxor-Cairo: After a filling buffet breakfast, you will visit the West Bank of the Nile. The first stop is the Colossi of Memnon. These two magnificent giant statues are all that remains of the mortuary Temple of Amenhophis III. Legend has it that they would "sing at sunrise" because of the unique weaseling sound caused by the wind passed through the rock structure. Continue to the Royal Tombs at the Valley of the Kings. This is where generations of Pharaohs were buried along with their hidden treasures. See the tombs; articulate paintings and sarcophaguses of these great kings. Proceed for the Temple of Hatchepsut (Dier El Bahari). These magnificent tombs belong to Queen Hatchepsut the only woman Pharaoh to have ruled Egypt. This monument will leave you in awe as it appears to be engraved into a giant mountain. Disembark from ship and transfer to the sleeper train station for departure to Cairo. Concept Voyages’ representative will assist you while transfer. Enjoy a delicious dinner onboard and overnight train to Cairo.
Day 7 Cairo: As you enjoy breakfast onboard the train, you will arrive into Cairo. After the train journey, visit the Citadel of "Saladin" and the Alabaster Mosque. Continue to the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar (largest in the Middle East & Africa) for a chance to buy some last minute souvenirs. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 8 Cairo departure: After breakfast, transfer to the Cairo International Airport for boarding flight to onward destination.
